Are You Ready for an Exciting Career in Real Estate Sales?

By Ali Frederickson

Are you ready for a career change? Why not consider the exciting and lucrative world of real estate sales? As a real estate sales agent with Lochore’s, you can chart your own course for success with a level of independence that few other career opportunities can provide! Learn why real estate could be the perfect opportunity for your next big career change.

The benefits of a real estate sales career

Residential property is always in demand, so a career as a real estate salesperson will provide desirable job security. When it comes to real estate sales, however, the appeal is all about independence. Forge your own path with your own plan, be your own boss, and exceed your own expectations! By growing as much and as quickly as you wish, your career as a real estate salesperson is entirely what you can make of it.

The benefits don’t stop there, however. You’ll get out of the office and enjoy the sights and sounds of the local area, making your own hours and meeting with countless interesting people! Finally, you’ll need to ask nobody’s permission to take that dream vacation you’ve been planning. Sounds nice, doesn’t it?

How to prepare for your career switch

In the meantime, you should prepare yourself personally by taking time to think about your personal brand, and then actualising it. Decide what you stand for, and what kind of real estate salesperson you want to be. At Lochore’s, we also provide you with the marketing tools and assistance to market your brand identity as you’ve crafted it.

Outside of creating a personal brand, patience, positivity, and persistence are qualities that pay huge dividends in this business. They’re also qualities you can practice and develop over time as long as you don’t lose track of self-improvement.

Additionally, you’ll want to get an early start on establishing your network. Familiarise yourself with digital marketing tools and set up your social media accounts. Networking, particularly in the local area, will play a huge role in your future success. Lay the foundations early.

You should also start investing in the tools you’re going to need: particularly a car and a planner. Your new job will take you all over this side of town, chasing your many appointments.

What you’ll need to break into the real estate business

you’ll enjoy free in-house training and mentoring if you’re selected to join our team. However, before that, you’ll need to earn a New Zealand Certificate in Real Estate (Salesperson) (Level 4). This certification can be earned online through many New Zealand schools for about $1,500 to $2,500.

Fortunately, you don’t need much else to break into the world of real estate. At the very least, you’ll need to be at least 18 years old with a clean criminal record and a driver’s license and car to get started. We can help you with the rest!

The Lochore’s Real Estate team is keen for salespeople with an intimate knowledge of the communities on Auckland’s North Shore, particularly in the Northcote, Birkenhead and Beach Haven areas, and have the drive and communication skills to meet their biggest goals. If you’re from the local area and know the ins and outs of what makes this side of Auckland’s North Shore a great place to live in, this might be the opportunity you’ve been looking for!
